NDIS Price guide and support catalogue

The NDIA publishes 2 documents that relate to the supply and cost of supports under the NDIS. These are updated regularly with the latest NDIS price list on 1 July 2024 :

  1. NDIS Price NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits 2024-2025
This does not contain prices, but rather policy information and guidance for Providers and Support Coordinators, Plan Managers and Participants. There is a single national price guide.

  2. NDIS Support Catalogue 2024–25
This is the NDIS ‘price list’ and contains the price limits, support categories, descriptions and line item numbers to help clearly identify what is claimable.

Latest Price Guide Updates:

Pricing Updates - Effective from 1 July 2024

What’s Changing in the Price Guide?

Starting July 1st, several changes will take effect:

End of TTP

The Temporary Transformation Payment (TTP) will no longer be included in the NDIA price guide from July 1st.

For Providers: You can still claim TTP rates for services provided before July 1st as legacy line items.

Updates to Short Notice Cancellations

The rules around cancellations have been adjusted based on the type of support:

  • For Disability Support Work (DSW), the notice period remains at 7 days.
  • For Non-DSW supports, the new notice period is 2 business days.

For Providers: The PAPL document will indicate whether a service requires a ‘7 days’ or ‘2 clear business days’ cancellation notice.

For Participants: Be aware that the new 2 business days notice period now applies to non-DSW supports.

Price Limits Increase by 3.19%

Effective July 1st, 2024, the price limits for supports delivered by disability support workers will increase by 3.19%. This change follows the Fair Work Commission’s (FWC) decision to raise minimum award wages by 3.75%.

Reason for the Increase: The NDIA uses the Disability Support Worker Cost Model to set these price limits. This adjustment ensures providers can fairly compensate their workers, reflecting the FWC’s decision.

For Participants: NDIS is updating your plans to include this increase.

Additional Key Pricing Changes

Here are some other essential updates:

  • Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) Pricing: Updated pricing arrangements for SDA, including an increase in the maximum reasonable rent contribution (MRRC) and maximum board amount effective from March 20th, 2024.
  • Group and Centre-Based Supports: As of January 1st, 2024, the transition to fairer and more transparent pricing for group-based supports is complete, moving away from ratio-based pricing.

New Line Items Added

Here are the new additions to the price guide:

  • Support Coordination Level 2: Offering personalised support to help you find and keep a job.
  • Psychosocial Recovery Coaching: Providing assistance with job-related stress and ensuring other support services adapt as you begin and continue employment.
  • Supports in Employment: Support workers in your workplace to help you maintain employment until your new plan includes the necessary ongoing supports.
  • AT Mentor: Providing independent advice on choosing and using assistive technology, along with capacity building and peer support.

Pricing Updates - Announced 28 November 2023

The NDIA have updated the Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits document to clarify and improve arrangements for some travel costs.

Assistance with daily lie and supported independent living

They have included extra support items for Provider Travel – Non-labour costs. This allows participants to utilise the support from their Core budget in cases where Capacity Building funds are not flexible.

In support of this change, the NDIS Support Catalogue has been updated with new item numbers and descriptions.

General Transport

Updates to a few words, to clarify that this support item allows a participant to pay a provider to transport them to an activity. This could include an activity that is not itself a support. It also includes supports delivered by another provider.

Pricing Updates - Announced 14 August 2023

The NDIA have released an updated PAPL with revised wording to provide more clarity for providers of group-based supports and supported independent living.

Group-based supports

The update explains that providers can gradually transition participants as part of a group or centre-based support in stages. This means different groups of participants can transition at different times, which may align better with typical events such as end of program or service agreements.

Supported independent living

Following the annual indexation of a participant’s plan, providers can liaise with participants about the adjusted remaining SIL funds. If the participant agrees, providers can adjust the weekly claim amount based on the number of weeks remaining in the plan and total plan funding available for SIL.
