Your NDIS plan will include ‘Coordination of Supports’ and/or ‘Specialist Support Coordination’. This will be shown in the Capacity Building Supports section of your plan
Support coordination is a service in the NDIS that helps participants use their NDIS plan to achieve their goals by connecting them to the appropriate providers and services.
Not everyone with an NDIS plan will have support coordination. It’s usually included in a plan when there’s a need for extra help to implement supports, especially when the participant has more complex needs.
Support coordinators help participants use their plan and connect with providers. Plan managers manage the financial aspects of a plan, while LACs support participants during the planning and review process.
Yes, you can change your support coordinator if you feel their services aren’t meeting your needs. It’s essential to communicate your concerns first and then seek a more suitable alternative if necessary.
Support coordination will be listed as a funded item in the ‘Capacity Building Supports’ section of your plan.
We have many registered support coordinators ready to help you with your NDIS plan. Alternatively, your local area coordinator or early childhood partner can help connect you with one.
