August 2026 is one of our biggest social program months of the year. We have 38 supported outings scheduled across Sydney, running from Rocks Markets on Saturday 1 August all the way through to a Tenpin Bowling night on Sunday 31 August. Every session is planned, staffed and coordinated by 4titude, with trained support workers alongside people we support the whole way through.
If you have Community Participation, Social and Community Participation, or Assistance with Social and Community Participation funding in your NDIS plan, most of our monthly social program is eligible. New participants are welcome to come along for a free first session to see how it works before committing.
The full calendar with dates, times, meeting points and pricing is available as a one-page PDF at the monthly social program page. This article walks through the highlights so you can see what's on offer.
Weekly programs: the routine builders
Every Monday and Tuesday in August, we run two group sessions that participants can lock into their week.
- Tenpin Bowling League at Tenpin City Lidcombe, every Monday afternoon
- Movie Club at Reading Cinemas, every Tuesday afternoon
These regulars are the backbone of the monthly program. Participants who come each week build genuine friendships, learn to navigate public venues confidently, and develop the social communication skills that transfer straight into other parts of daily life. New members are welcome any week.
Live theatre and music
Six headline shows across the month, from West End musicals to classic tribute nights.
- Grease and Rocky Horror show at Wenty Leagues Club — Saturday 1 August
- Jesus Christ Superstar at Riverside Theatre Parramatta — Saturday 8 August
- The Lion King at Capitol Theatre Haymarket — Sunday 9 August
- Thank You for the Music (ABBA tribute) at Riverside Theatre Parramatta — Saturday 15 August
- The Great Pretender tribute night at Wenty Leagues Club — Saturday 29 August
- Fiddler on the Roof at Theatre Royal — Sunday 30 August
Theatre nights are among the most popular monthly outings. We take care of the ticketing, the transport and the seating logistics, so the person we support only needs to think about enjoying the show.
NRL fixtures across Sydney
If you follow the footy, August has 14 NRL fixtures on our program across every major Sydney ground. Highlights include:
- Eels V Tigers at Commbank Stadium — Sunday 2 August
- Roosters V Bulldogs at Allianz Stadium — Friday 7 August
- Rabbitohs V Eels at Allianz Stadium — Saturday 8 August
- Dragons V Sharks at Jubilee Stadium — Sunday 9 August
- Panthers V Roosters at Commbank Stadium — Thursday 13 August
- Bulldogs V Rabbitohs at Accor Stadium — Friday 14 August
- Eels V Cowboys at Commbank Stadium — Saturday 15 August
- Tigers V Dragons at Commbank Stadium — Sunday 16 August
- Rabbitohs V Warriors at Accor Stadium — Saturday 22 August
- Dragons V Bulldogs at Allianz Stadium — Saturday 22 August
- Roosters V Tigers at Allianz Stadium — Sunday 23 August
- Panthers V Bulldogs at Commbank Stadium — Friday 28 August
- Roosters V Dolphins at Allianz Stadium — Saturday 29 August
- Eels V Sharks at Commbank Stadium — Sunday 30 August
Supported spectating is a rich context for social participation. You'll be in a crowd, ordering food, chatting with other supporters, navigating public transport home. All of it structured, all of it supported.
Exhibitions, markets and Sydney exploring
Beyond the headliners, August has a strong lineup of daytime outings across some of Sydney's best cultural and outdoor spots.
- Rocks Markets with breakfast and a walk — Saturday 1 August
- Sydney Zoo visit and lunch — Saturday 1 August
- Harry Potter exhibition at Sydney Olympic Park pavilion — Sunday 2 August
- Art Gallery of NSW exhibition and lunch — Saturday 8 August
- Harbour Bridge walk and lunch — Saturday 15 August
- Sydney Olympic Park food tents and boardwalk tour — Sunday 16 August
- Sam Wallman: View from the Docks at the Australian National Maritime Museum — Saturday 22 August
- Bush walk and lunch at North Head — Sunday 23 August
- Ferry and Rocks walk from Circular Quay — Saturday 29 August
Weekend daytime outings are great for people we support who prefer something less high-stimulation than an evening at the theatre. They also give newer participants a comfortable way to try the program without a big commitment.
How the monthly social program builds NDIS goals
Every outing on the calendar targets one or more of the seven NDIS Functional Domains. Different sessions build different things.
- Social interaction is developed through the group dynamic itself: sharing space, taking turns, reading tone in others, initiating and maintaining conversation.
- Communication grows through ordering food, asking staff for information, negotiating group decisions, and expressing preferences.
- Community participation is the whole point: being present, visible and welcome in mainstream Sydney venues alongside everyone else.
- Mobility is exercised through walks, stairs, public transport and navigating unfamiliar buildings.
- Learning happens in cultural venues, exhibitions and structured settings where new information is presented in an accessible way.
Coordinators writing plan reports can use the monthly social program as evidence of consistent, structured community participation. Progress notes are shared to the participant's Coordinator on request.
How to join an outing
To book a specific outing or ask about eligibility for a first free session, get in touch through the contact page or call your usual 4titude support coordinator. Bookings for popular events like The Lion King and Fiddler on the Roof fill early, so it's worth asking about them a couple of weeks ahead.
The full August calendar with meeting times, exact pricing and pickup arrangements is on the monthly social program page.
Questions? or call our Western Sydney, Lake Macquarie or Batemans Bay hubs directly. We'll help you work out which sessions suit the person you support and whether they fit within current NDIS funding.
