October is one of the busiest months on the 4titude calendar. Between weekly leagues, a run of Watch Live sport outings tied to the Rugby League World Cup, a full theatre and cultural program, and a step forward on the state futsal pathway, there is something on for almost everyone in our community. Here is what our participants have coming up.
Sport with us this month
Our weekly programs keep running right through October. Tenpin Bowling League continues every Monday at Tenpin City, Lidcombe. Movie Club meets every Tuesday at Reading Cinemas. Our Softball Competition runs every Saturday at International Peace Park, Seven Hills, through to the end of the month.
On top of that, our Sports 4 All Watch Live program is taking groups to a big run of live sport this month, including several Rugby League World Cup fixtures at Allianz Stadium and CommBank Stadium, A-League soccer, a three-match Women's T20 cricket series at North Sydney Oval, and NBL basketball at Qudos Bank Arena and the WIN Entertainment Centre. For the full list of dates, teams and venues, see sports4all.org.au.
There is also a pathway milestone this month: Futsal state team tryouts are being held at Valentine Park on Sunday 4 October. More on that below.
Community and cultural outings
October brings a strong line-up of theatre and cultural experiences:
- The Lion King at Capitol Theatre (Sat 3 Oct)
- Cirque Alice at Sydney Lyric Theatre (Sun 4 Oct)
- Six the Musical at Theatre Royal (Sat 10 Oct)
- Mamma Mia at Riverside Theatre, Parramatta (Sun 18 Oct)
- We Are the Tigers at Hayes Theatre, Elizabeth Bay (Sun 25 Oct)
- Jersey Boys at Epping Club (Fri 16 Oct)
- Rocket Man v Piano Man at Wenty Leagues Club (Sat 24 Oct)
- Twist & Shout: A Salute to Rock & Roll at Epping Club (Fri 30 Oct)
- Can’t Stop the Music at Wenty Leagues Club (Sat 31 Oct)
Alongside the theatre program, our participants are also getting out into the community with a Chinese dinner and explore at Chinatown Centre (Fri 2 Oct), a Sunday sounds and lunch outing at the Chinese Gardens of Friendship (Sun 11 Oct), the Echoes light show at Bella Vista (Sat 3 Oct and Sat 10 Oct), a movie and dinner night at Blacktown Drive-In (Fri 9 Oct), an outing to Wharf 7 at Walsh Bay (Sat 3 Oct), and the Ghost Festival at The Rocks (Fri 30 Oct).
Pathway and representative sport
On Sunday 4 October, a group of our futsal participants will attend state team tryouts at Valentine Park, run as part of the pathway toward the National Futsal Championship in Gold Coast in January 2027. It is an exciting step for participants aiming to represent NSW/ACT at a national level. For more detail on the state pathway, see sportinclusionnsw.com.au.
